About Us

Mejor Steel supplies steel pipe, pipe fittings, flanges, casing and tubing, and sucker rods to buyers who would rather place one order than four. The material is produced by our partner mills; the specification, the contract, the delivery date and the shipping documents are held here, for the whole order.

What we supply

Five product lines, each covering a different part of a pipeline or well programme:

  • Steel pipe — seamless and welded line pipe to API 5L and the ASTM grades, from NPS 1/8″ to 60″
  • Casing and tubing — OCTG to API 5CT in grades J55 through P110 and Q125, with couplings, thread protectors and accessories
  • Pipe fittings — butt weld, forged and high-yield fittings to ASME B16.9, B16.11, MSS SP-97 and API 6A
  • Flanges — to ASME B16.5 and B16.47, in the common face types and materials
  • Sucker rods — to API 11B, in grades C, D, K, KD, HL and HY

What is held in stock, what is made to order, and the inspection that applies to each line is set out on the individual line pages. The products page is the index to all five.

How an order is supplied

Mejor Steel works as the export agent for our partner mills. The mills make the material; we are the single point of contact accountable for the order from the first enquiry to the Bill of Lading.

The specification is reviewed and matched to a mill here, the contract and the delivery date are held here, production is followed here, third-party inspection is arranged here on request, and the shipping documents are prepared here. If a claim arises after delivery it is raised with us, and we stay on the file until it is resolved — rather than being chased through a mill, a forwarder and a second trader in the middle. The how we supply page sets out how that split works, and who is accountable for what.

We are a trading company, and we do not own production equipment. The material is produced to your specification by a partner mill, which issues the mill test certificate from its own laboratory. Which mill that is, is named on the quotation before you commit to the order.

What we are accountable for on every order

  • Reviewing the specification, and saying plainly if something in it cannot be met.
  • Selecting the mill, and naming it on the quotation.
  • Holding the price, the commercial terms and the delivery date, confirmed on the quotation.
  • Following production against the schedule, and telling you where the order stands.
  • Arranging third-party inspection at the mill or before shipment when you ask for it.
  • Preparing the shipping documents, and matching the packing marks on the goods to them.
  • Staying on the file until a claim is resolved.

Every order is released with a mill test certificate traceable to the heat number — EN 10204 3.1, or 3.2 where you nominate an independent inspector. What is verified and tested on each order is on the quality control page; the documents that can travel with a shipment are listed under certifications and documents.

How to start

Send the specification — standard and grade, size and wall thickness, quantity, ends or connection type, and destination port — and we come back with availability and pricing within one business day. A material requisition or a drawing works as well, and usually contains all five already.

The how to order page walks through the eight stages of an order, from that first enquiry to the Bill of Lading. The quotation page carries the enquiry form and the five items that make a specification quotable.

Common questions

Are you a manufacturer?
No. Mejor Steel is a trading company and export agent, and we do not own production equipment. The material is produced by our partner mills, which issue the mill test certificate; how we supply explains who does what.
How quickly will I get a quotation?
Within one business day of sending the specification. The more of the five items you can give us — standard and grade, size and wall, quantity, ends or connection, and destination port — the faster and more accurate the answer, but send what you have rather than waiting for the rest.
Who will I deal with?
One contact, in English, who answers for the order — not the mill’s export desk, not a forwarder, not a second trader in the middle. Enquiries and orders are handled Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00 China Standard Time; the contact page has the direct details.
Do you supply to any destination?
Material is supplied for export and quoted on the destination port you name, so the quotation can include delivery to where you need it. Tell us the port with the enquiry; the delivery term that applies to your order is the one written on its quotation. Import terms, the documents that decide duty and the clearance route are covered destination by destination in the market guides, which currently cover Vietnam and Brazil.

Send a specification and we will tell you which partner mill can make it, what it costs and when it can ship.
